Dark Horse Comics has announced that the legendary noir comic series Blacksad is returning as a two-part graphic novel series.
Blacksad is a detective noir series that stars an anthropomorphic cat in a fictionalized version of the 1950s. For those unfamiliar with the comic, it originally published in the United States back in the year 2000 with volumes also releasing in 2003, 2005, and 2014. This comic sereis was originally published and created in Spain by creators Juan Díaz Canales and Juanjo Guarnido, and translated all around the world. Blacksad has won many awards across the industry including 5 Eisner nominations and 2 Eisner wins.
In Blacksad: They All Fall Down: Part One, Detective Blacksad goes against the mob, the unions, and Lewis Solomon, who plans to pave over New York City’s green spaces. Blacksad will find his way through the 1950s city's seedy underbelly while Solomon tries to control things from above. Meanwhile, Weekly (Blacksad's Partner) must deal with his own problems as Blacksad's past comes back to bite him by way of an old flame.
The first part in this new Blacksad graphic novel series will be released by Dark Horse comics on July 6th, 2022, in local comic book shops, and then on July 19th, 2022, at bookstores. It is now available to pre-order through Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and your local comic shop.
